Senior Health Check – FREE @ Allen Eiry Center

This Health Check is Open to the Public for those 60 years and over.

Health check includes vital signs, glucose, hemoglobin, lung sounds, edema, urinalysis, weight; height, review medications and education.  No reservations needed.

Jewelry 101 Class @ Allen Eiry Center

JEWELRY 101 CLASS
Second & Fourth Wednesday of each month @ 10:00am

Karen Knaur will be teaching us as a volunteer jewelry crafter. A specific jewelry project will be presented twice each month: once on the second Wednesday and then repeated on the fourth Wednesday. Classes will range from simple bracelets made with memory wire or stretch material to more complex wire wrapping earrings and necklaces. Class will start at 10:00am and end before noon. The cost is $2.00 per class (to help pay for materials).

This class is limited to 8 participants (each day) so please reserve your spot today.

WOOD CARVING CLASSES

The wood carving classes are open to anyone 50 years of age and older. Instructors will be at hand to help whether you are a beginner or an advanced carver.

You need to be a member of the Allen Eiry Center (cost is $25 per year) to participate. If you are thinking of joining the class but have questions, please stop by either class to speak with the instructors. Come to class when it fits your schedule.

The Painted Girls @ Allen Eiry Center

“THE PAINTED GIRLS”

In conjunction with our trip to the Toledo Museum of Art with the Tiffin-Seneca Public Library we will be having a book discussion of “The Painted Girls” at the Allen Eiry Center.

The time will be 10:30AM on Thursday, October 11, 2018. No registration is required. Trinity Lescallett, Adult Services Manager for the Tiffin-Seneca Public Library will lead the discussion.

You do not have to attend this book discussion to go on the trip. This is just a little extra the library and AEC is offering.

“The Painted Girls” by Cathy Marie Buchanan, a historical novel inspired by the real-life model for Edgar Degas’s sculpture Little Dancer Aged Fourteen. You can contact the library to check out this book or place on hold.

Cardio Drumming 50+ @ Allen Eiry Center

CARDIO DRUMMING 50+

This is a great cardio exercise! Drumming can be done by standing or sitting, it can be done by people of different physical abilities. Join us to learn more about “drumming”. It’s fun, keeps you active and lots of benefits will be gained!!
Open to anyone 50 years and older and is a member of AEC. The Cardio Drumming classes are lead by Brandie Gruss.

We also offer a class Tuesdays at 8:00AM.

Quilting Lessons

BEGINNING QUILTING CLASS

Beginner quilting classes will be held each Friday from 10:00—11:30am.  Instructor Sara Welly will be teaching you the basic skills. Sara is very patient and willing to teach any quilting skills that you may want to learn.  There is an $1.00 charge for each class which will continue throughout the year. Registration is not required.

Each Tuesday @ 10:00AM, Marilyn Mangano is teaching the basic skills in knitting.  The cost is $1.00 / lesson.  If knitting is something you always wanted to learn but didn’t have time, stop by.  It’s fun and Marilyn is very patient.
