It all started with a swarm of bees…
First Stop: Nearly 150 years ago, Amos Ives Root was inspired to start a beekeeping business when a swarm of bees landed on the window of his jewelry store. That simple event created a company that has become synonymous with beekeeping, honey, pure beeswax, and the highest quality candles. Some even refer to the Root family as “America’s First Family of Beekeeping”. Their fragrances contain essential oils for a long lasting, aromatic bouquet that is always true to nature. Second Stop: Lunch at Miss Molly’s Tea Room. This venue is located in the historic district of Media with a lovely decorated Victorian Tea Room. Our menu will be- three heart shaped sandwiches featuring homemade chicken salad, tuna salad and southern style pimento cheese, served with strawberry pretzel salad, gourmet chips and carrot cake.
Last Stop: You will have an hour or so to check out stores on the Square.

Join us for a great summer day at two beautiful venues. The first stop is Schedel Arboretum & Gardens. In August we will be able to view seventeen acres of annuals, dahlias, tropical blooms, and roses. We will also be able to enjoy the kitchen garden, vegetable garden along with a new pepper garden. We have hired a guide to explain things to us.
Lunch will be served in their lovely Brown Welcome Center which overlooks the lower level gardens. A deck is also attached for your enjoyment.
We will have time to visit the “Garden Argosy” Gift Shop featuring local artisan’s crafts. Trees and plants are also sold here.
Golf cart assistance is available for those truly in need. They can accommodate thirteen passengers at a time. We want everyone to be able to travel. If you feel you need a cart please tell the office when you make your reservation.
Benches Greenhouse, Nursery and Farmer’s Market are celebrating 40 years in business. Today, in over 3 acres of retail production and selling space, they offer 15,000 flowering hanging baskets, 100,000+ potted annual flowers, 25,000 potted perennial plants, nursery trees, roses, shrubs, bushes, plants and gift items.
The family run farm covers 650 acres, specializing in processing tomatoes and pickling cucumbers. During the summertime, the Bench’s operate Bench’s Farm Market, growing their own sweet corn, melons, peppers, cucumbers, green beans, squash, pumpkins, gourds and Indian corn.

Looking for a nice day out? Come join us as we travel to Fremont for an all inclusive FARM DAY OUT. The first stop is a visit to Oak Haven Belgian Horse Farm, this gem proudly breeds and raises quality Belgian Horses. Enjoy a tour of the barn and get to see many beautiful horses during our visit.
On to Rimelspach’s Farm Market where we will enjoy a farm fresh lunch. Dave, our local farmer, will be present to tell you about his family farm and produce you will be enjoying in your yummy lunch. We will also be able to browse the farm market and purchase some goodies to take home.
After lunch we will be stopping at the King Dairy Farm for a tour of their fully automated dairy farm. Tim King, the owner, will share his story of how he milks over 200 cows daily. An ice cream treat will be provided on this tour, from Tofts ice cream who purchases all of the King’s Dairy Farm milk.

We are providing this trip along with the Tiffin-Seneca Public Library. This pen & palette tour will be a docent led tour focused on the book “The Painted Girls” by Cathy Marie Buchanan, a historical novel inspired by the real-life model for Edgar Degas’ sculpture Little Dancer Aged Fourteen.
After the tour you will be able to explore the museum on your own and get lunch at the museum café. This is a great cooperative venture between the Library and AEC. So come join in an educational fun day. We want to thank the library board for underwriting the cost of this trip.

Shop & Drop allows shoppers to place their purchases off for safe keeping and come back later to pick them up.
