It is that time of year to plan for our Mud Hens Summer “family” outing. So gather up your gang and sign up. The past few years we have had two full buses.
The Pawtucket Red Sox are based in Pawtucket, Rhode Island and are the only professional baseball team in Rhode Island. Its most recent championship win was in 2014.
We will have our “all you can eat” ballpark buffet, game and enjoy the wonderful fireworks!

Near the north end of the Peninsula, the chapel was originally built in 1888 and now can be toured as an historical site, and houses stories of Indian dwellers and their activities; grape wine and fruit farms; fishing and boating industries; and family life of early settlers. Learn about this special piece of land surrounded by Lake Erie on three sides.
Then off to Twin Oast Brewing for lunch. The brewing is above all things, an experience. It is first and foremost experiencing great beer, crafted by people obsessed with making unique flavors for beer enthusiasts and casual drinkers alike. We will enjoy lunch in the middle of a beautiful 60–acre farm estate, featuring forested areas, stone fruit orchards, and home-grown produce. Members have said that the food is delicious! Ikea was founded in 1943 which was mostly a mail-order sales business. It began to sell furniture five years late. The first store was opened in 1958 in Sweden, 1963 in Norway and Denmark in 1969. Now IKEA is a major retail experience in 40 countries. A little trivia…the name IKEA is an acronym standing for founder Inguar Kamprad, Elmtarud (family farm) and his village Agunnaryo. He was only 17 when he founded IKEA.

In conjunction with the newly formed Norwalk Arts Center, LLC we will be traveling to the Norwalk area. This will be a day to eat, explore, shop and learn. YOU WILL BE TREATED ROYALY from the first stop to the last.
Stop #1 Sandy Ridge Vineyards & Mercantile, pastries, coffee and mimosas.
Stop #2 Norwalk Art Center located in the heart of the historic downtown. The founders will give us a tour of the 1941 theater and share with us their visions and update us on the major renovations to bring life back to this historic venue.
Stop #3 We will have plenty of time to shop the unique shops in the downtown area including Patina, When Pigs Fly, Maple Leaf Gallery, Creameries Emporium and Norwalk Fabric Outlet.
Stop #4 Old School Warehouse, Monroeville– They travel the country in a school bus, finding items from architectural salvage, working with interior designers, movie sets, etc.
Stop #5 Lunch on own in Sandusky
Stop #6 State Theater Tour, originally created in 1928, the State has been an integral part of the greater Sandusky area. We will hear their story and how it has been serving the community for over 80 years.
Stop #7 Naturally Country, Norwalk—Vast collection of home décor, custom floral arrangements.
Stop #8 Back to Sandy Ridge Vineyards & Mercantile—Sandy Ridge reopened in September 2018 and has become a popular venue. We will be enjoying a delicious buffet in a space that highlights the farm’s history as an agricultural hub, however this time the spotlight will focus on viticulture and wine.
This is going to be a fun day! The Norwalk Arts Center and the Allen Eiry Center have worked out great plans and details for this special day so that everyone will receive “STAR TREATMENT”! They have secured several nice door prizes for the day. We will be the only ones able to purchase tickets for the charity raffle. So bring a few extra dollars so you can be part of this very special raffle.
